Curry Zen Makes The Most Disgusting Vegas Food Photo

Curry “Barf”

If you’re going to market your products, at least make sure to hire a basic photographer and someone with experience in Social Media. Curry Zen, a local curry house on South Rainbow in Las Vegas seems to have no clue how to do either, and in a paid post on Facebook attempted to spread the word about their “Katsu Curry with Spinach.” Unfortunately, the photo didn’t look much like food, but instead perhaps waste product or dog diarrhea.

Not sure which photo is worse, the Curry Zen Diarrhea or the Throw-Up Halal Guys Food.

In all fairness, it’s pretty hard to take a good photograph of curry, but it is possible.

Pawn Plaza is Failing Miserably after Scandals

0

Less than a year after opening THREE of the restaurants in Pawn Plaza have closed in the same week. Smoke’s Poutinerie, Pawn Dounut and Coffee and Inna Gadda di Pizza have all announced they are closing because of the lack of business.

Of the closing, Vegas Eater stated that, “Both ventures were created by 34th Floor Hospitality from familiar locals Ralph Cautela and Olivier Zardoni. Cautela was a force behind “Secret Pizza” at Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. Inna Gadda di Pizza featured New York-style pies by the slice or the whole pizza. Neighbors received free delivery. Pawn Donut & Coffee featured a menu of oversized doughnuts matched with Illy Coffee. The names and flavors were inspired by locals and celebrities.”

Smoke’s Poutinerie was known for serving smelly crap on French Fries, which many locals and tourists didn’t appreciate at all.

The lack of traffic could be because the Pawn Stars Cast have been less than popular these days. Corey Harrison one of the stars was criticized recently this year when his other venture, the Beauty Bar in downtown Las Vegas, thought that domestic violence jokes would be a good way to advertise the business.

Then soon after, Chumlee aka Austin Russel plead guilty for having a shitload of pot in his house, and agreed to go to counseling while during probation.

These left everyone wondering if Pawn Stars would even return – but the damage seems to have been done, with “Pawn Plaza” almost empty this week, and the three restaurants quickly throwing in the towel.

Pete Rose Kicked Off Strip

0

Not sure what is going on, and no one really wanted to answer questions.  However, it seems that Pete Rose may have been “kicked out” of Vegas, once again, and that the Pete Rose Bar and Grill will no longer have Pete Rose.

According to the fine folks at VitalVegas: “Baseball icon Pete Rose is no longer involved with the former Pete Rose Sports Bar & Grill at the Hawaiian Marketplace on the Las Vegas Strip. As evidence of his parting ways with the venue, Rose’s name has been unceremoniously blacked out on the restaurant’s signage…The opening of the Pete Rose Sports Bar & Grill was curious given it seemed to materialize overnight. Pete Rose’s involvement in the place appears to have ended just as abruptly.”

Robin Leach reported the grand opening less than a year ago, with Pete Rose being added to the project seemingly out of nowhere: “I’m going to have a whole lotta fun here,” MLB legend Pete Rose told me at Tuesday night grand’s opening of his 9,000-square-foot Pete Rose Bar and Grill at Hawaiian Marketplace on the Strip opposite Aria.

As recent at August 5th, the Bar and Grill was touting their partnership, even begging people to follow Pete Rose on Facebook.

[Photos] See Banned Vegas Mariah Carey Advertisement

Airports in California have complained that they won’t allow the Mariah Carey advertisements for her Vegas show, because according to an insider, “her breasts were too big and distracting.”

The advertisements, which may never be released, were supposed to go up near the Burbank and Orange County airports, but those plans have been scrapped due to the amount of skin shown in the photos. So are the airports just being prude? Well, according to TMZ, the proactive images might also be too much for Vegas.

“Sure, we get that airports don’t want any, um … distractions for the pilots trying to land planes,” noted celebrity gossip blog PerezHilton.com, “but we’re hoping that Mimi gets the freedom to promote her residency in all her curvy glory.”

Nobu Chef to Create Gourmet Sushi Burritos?

0

I really hate the idea of Sushi Burritos, partially because they seem like a crappy way to hide poor quality fish with mayonnaise and other junk. However, when I heard about Tail and Fin, a new restaurant opening that is focused on quality fish being included, I couldn’t help paying attention.

Tail & Fin is a Japanese-inspired restaurant that combines raw fish with other worldly cultures wrapped in a sushi burrito or mixed in a poke bowl.

The visionary behind Tail & Fin’s menu is Executive Chef, Karu Wedhas.

Wedhas is notable for his years of experience working around the world in Beijing, Malibu, and here in Las Vegas under Chef Nobu Matsuhisa.

What sets Tail & Fin apart from its competition is the owners’ vision of bringing together a luxurious atmosphere with a fast and convenient business model without comprising the quality of the food and service.

The restaurant will open on Thursday, September 1st and will be located at 9845 S. Maryland Parkway Suite B.

I do indeed plan to try this restaurant and see if quality fish, amazing service makes a difference when it comes to “Sushi Burritos.”

Halal Guys is Worst Idea in World for Las Vegas

0

Let’s be honest here: most people who went to Halal Guys during their grand opening have absolutely no idea what they are eating. They may as well shat between a pita and put sauce all over it, and most people would have gobbled it up believing the PR. They just know it was advertised and some people said that it was “good” and they read some bullshit story and press release about how “Halal” meat is better for you. (It isn’t)

First of all Halal guys is New York Street Food. That should be enough to make you want to throw up daily.

You know those carts that push around day old meat for hours in the hot weather, pollution, dirty water, spit from customers and vendors, rotting away? That’s what street food is. It’s a New York tradition that often ends up with people deathly ill from eating this non-regulated food, the trash that most restaurants won’t take and put between bread, pita or on rice.

According to the New York Daily News, these carts get half of all complaints about dirty food and food poisoning in NYC.

Looks like someone shat in the food before serving? Yes, that's the "style" of food carts.
Looks like someone shat in the food before serving? Yes, that’s the “style” of food carts.

The complaints relay graphic details of gastric distress: Everything from projectile vomiting to stabbing stomach pains to three days of diarrhea. They described food handlers working without gloves, workers scooping spilled spices off filthy sidewalks, a bare-chested cook with his body hair wafting onto the grill.

In fact, these “Halal Vendors” that claim that their food is actually cleaner are the worst violators in NYC! “That’s wheely gross. Mobile food vendors racked up a stomach-turning 2,517 violations this year — ranging from poor personal hygiene, to serving up mystery meat, to live rodents — but the city Health Department doesn’t grade them or let the public know just how filthy they are.”

Why would we want this in Las Vegas, where temperatures often exceed 115’ in the summer, making even the most qualified Chef scared about food poisoning? This is a food poisoning epidemic waiting to happen in the near future.

In Chicago they even failed inspection, with food poisoning complaints, unwashed hands, no soap for employees to wash hands, no bug and rodent prevention — a total of THREE serious violations not including the Food Poisoning.

Halal Guys Example of Food. Disgusting Mush.

I’m not saying that Halal guys is going to kill you tomorrow, but that taking fast food, low quality meat that isn’t monitored constantly, often warmed for hours to serve, to potentially hundreds of customers a day is dangerous. This type of food poisons thousands of New Yorkers each year, and with our own health department in Clark Country overwhelmed and only checking some establishments once a year, I believe this may be one of the most horrible ideas ever invented for Vegas.

Again: food served this style, slathered with sauce to cover the disgusting meat and by-products of meat, is a health hazard in my opinion. If there wasn’t a long history of these type of restaurants poisoning people in NYC, I wouldn’t be saying this – but it’s the truth and something we need to take a lot more seriously in Vegas.

(Photos) Bratalian Restaurant Destroyed by Truck!

While it’s not known at the time if the driver was drunk, a truck has destroyed Chef Pellegrino’s restaurant in Henderson. Bratalian Restaurant, which is coined as “a Traditional Italian dishes served in an intimate dining room with quirky, hanging laundry décor,” will be closed for the near future because of this.

The Chef wrote on Facebook: “A day of sadness and destruction BRATALIAN Restaurant, a truck lost direction and drove right inside my dining room, leaving behind a track of damages to my restaurant and to our lives.  I will work hard to be able to comeback to business ASAP…. More info to come as soon as I get them”

The LVRJ described the restaurant as:
“…people an authentic taste of Italy. Beyond the menu, Bratalian is decorated as though people were sitting in the streets of Italy. Inside, there are clotheslines that hang above the entrance with shirts, skirts and pants hanging from them, giving an authentic feel of what an Italian neighborhood might look like.

Like the decor, the menu’s flavors are similarly authentic. Pellegrino has even put her own spin on brunch favorites, with items such as the chicken breast cordon blu and waffles, featuring a breaded chicken breast stuffed with Swiss cheese and ham, fried in clarified butter over freshly made buttermilk and cream waffles and topped with Vermont maple syrup, Chantilly cream and fresh fruit salad for $15; spaghetti cabonara frittata, a flat Italian omelet with DeCecco spaghetti, pancetta, smoked Provolone and Roman Pecorino for $14; and the Mediterranean omelet with egg whites, tomatoes, spinach, champignon mushrooms and feta cheese for $11.

We wish the Chef and her restaurant good luck and a speedy recovery.

MGM CEO Jim Murren Backs Clinton for First Endorsement

1

Jim Murren is showing not only that his leadership is making significant an amazing changes for MGM this year, but that he is willing to stand up and protest our City even if it means crossing political lines and making a few enemies.

Because of this, Murren, a “life long Republican” wrote in USAToday that he has no choice except to support Clinton, partially because of her support of immigrants which make the Vegas economy so vibrant:

As a lifelong registered Republican, I’ve crossed the aisle only a few times in elections past, and almost never at the presidential level. Each time, it was a gut-wrenching decision.

But this year it’s an easy choice. I’m going to put my country ahead of my party by voting for Hillary Clinton — and by making my first-ever public endorsement of a presidential candidate.

In his open letter, he wrote a glowing recommendation of Clinton, both personally and professionally:  “… on a more personal note, I believe that few presidential candidates are as prepared for the job as Clinton. I’ve come to this conclusion not because of her decades of experience as first lady, senator from New York and secretary of State. Rather, I speak from the personal experience of being with her in a room, working on issues in real time. Each time I have met with her to discuss complicated matters such as trade and energy policy, I have been incredibly impressed by her knowledge, command of the facts and solution-oriented approach.”

California Airports Ban Mariah Carey’s Vegas Boobs

0

Mariah Carey’s new billboards, which she commissioned for the final leg of her Las Vegas residency show “Number 1 to Infinity,” have reportedly been banned by two airports in California for being too racy.

According to TMZ, the billboards were supposed to be placed at two major Las Vegas-bound spots for Los Angeles visitors, near Burbank and Orange County airports. The airports, however, allegedly have an issue with the songstress’ very large chest in the advert, which according to the website were barely covered by a gold sheet.

Sources also told TMZ that even Caesar’s Palace — the venue of her residency show — is looking for a censored version of the provocative billboards. However, despite the alleged backlash, the website reported that the “When You Believe” hitmaker is still pressing for the use of the original in all its glory.

“Number 1 to Infinity” — which features all Carey’s eighteen U.S. number-one hits — started on May 6, 2015 and has already completed four legs. The fifth and final leg will kick off on Aug. 24 and will conclude on Sept. 11.

Carey will then start the Latin America leg of her “The Sweet Sweet Fantasy Tour” on Oct. 28 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The leg is scheduled to wrap on Nov. 9 in Monterrey, Mexico. According to Pollstar’s 2016 Mid Year Special Features, the tour grossed $15.3 million from 26 shows with total of 204,767 tickets sold in Europe [first leg] and Africa [second leg].

Ugg Opens Store in Fashion Show

0

Ugg continues its makeover by expanding its presence.

The lifestyle brand opened doors Thursday at a new retail shop on the Las Vegas strip at the Fashion Show Mall.

The 2,066-sq.-ft. retail space continues the brand’s relaunch from a sheepskin boot label to one with a complete range, including a variety of footwear styles, lounge wear, handbags, accessories and home goods.

The new location is the brand’s third in the Las Vegas area, joining stores at The Forum Shops at Caesars and the Las Vegas Premium Outlet North.

Celebrating Ugg’s 37-year history, the new spot carries its iconic styles as well as newer items, such as the reimagined Classic II Boot that incorporates water and stain resistance technology and a lighter weight for all-day wearability.

Along with a new sleek footwear and apparel collection, the brand’s physical shops have undergone a makeover, too, according to Gerard Marceda, Ugg VP of retail for North America.

“Reflecting our native California coastline our physical store locations immerse our customers in the UGG lifestyle,” Marceda explained in a statement. “We’re excited to open the doors to our new Las Vegas location and share not only the brand’s new and improved iconic style but also our expanded collection which includes more styling options for wherever life takes you.”
