The Las Vegas Strip is officially home to Morimoto and his distinctive Japanese fare from the world’s finest sushi creations to unforgettable dishes that showcase the Iron Chef’s unique ability to meld Eastern and Western flavors. The restaurant offers three distinct dining experiences: sushi bar, main dining room and Teppan tables, defining the luxurious elevation of Japanese cuisine and introducing the first and only iron griddle menu Morimoto offers in his renowned restaurant portfolio.

“Fate brought Morimoto Las Vegas to MGM Grand at an exciting time when the city’s dining scene is flourishing,” says Morimoto. “I’m continually inspired by Las Vegas’ glamour and wanted to create something we haven’t done before with a stimulating culinary show, bold cuisine, and delicious drinks that my guests will not soon forget.”

MGM Grand President and COO Scott Sibella says, “We want to officially welcome Chef Morimoto to MGM Grand. We are honored to have him as part of our culinary team and look forward to creating once-in-a-lifetime dining experiences at the city’s newest dining destination.”

Known as “Morimoto Stained Glass Window Sushi Rolls,” the Chef’s Combination combines various ingredients to create a picturesque work-of-art.

Morimoto uses his natural gift of fusing culinary techniques with high quality, fresh ingredients, resulting in memorable dishes that harmonize Japanese and Western flavors. The extensive fare offers guests a variety of ways to indulge in the sought-after cuisine in which Morimoto is known.

The Iron Chef’s First Teppan Experience—Morimoto takes a luxurious view on Teppan by making use of the world’s finest products, crafted by preeminent experts, resulting in an elite service experience. At the Teppan tables, guests select from a variety of a la carte items, allowing them to cater specifically to their discerning palates.

Sushi Art—The skill Morimoto uses to create legendary sushi takes center stage with mouth-watering delights such as the Soft Shell Crab Roll, a deep fried soft shell crab rolled with asparagus, tobiko, avocado, scallion and drizzled with a spicy sauce. TheChef’s Combination, which became an internet sensation known as “Morimoto Stained Glass Rolls,” combines various ingredients such as tamago, tuna, cucumber, rice and nori into a stunning and picturesque work-of-art.

Twisted Apps—Morimoto pays homage to world cultures with a series of bold appetizers such as the Tuna Pizza, which perfectly balances the saltiness of olives and anchovy aioli with a spicy jalapeño. The Mizuhiki Caesar Salad tosses crisp romaine lettuce with seared salmon and splashes of the chef’s special Caesar dressing and grapeseed oil for a refreshing mix of greens.

Sweet Temptations—The showmanship of Morimoto shines through his desserts including the Fiery Salty Caramel Chocolate Tart where a sphere of dark chocolate sorbet, marshmallow, salty caramel ganache and spiced rum is lit ablaze tableside in a glowing end to the meal.

OG Strip Club in Las Vegas Shuts Down Without Notice

0

Olympic Gardens, a notorious “Gentleman’s Club” that specialized in dancers with no teeth, has shut down in Las Vegas, without notice or reason given for the closing. Despite being busy, it seemed to be constantly full of drama and legal battles.

Their only comment was a facebook post that read

After decades of providing Las Vegas visitors and loyal locals the best in adult entertainment. We have closed the building and ceased operations of both OG’s gentlemen’s club and Men Of OG’s effective today October 23rd 2016.

Please join us at our new location Sophia’s gentlemen’s club located at 3500 W. Naples Dr. Las Vegas NV 89103. Where we will continue to provide the exceptional service you’ve come to expect from our wonderful staff and entertainers.

Open 7 days a week 4p-8a beginning this Friday October 28. Call 702-982-6777 for further information.

Their new club is the former Oracle space, which went out of business a year or so again. Before that it was another Strip Club, which also went out of business – since no one even knew it was there.

There is no word if employees were paid their last paycheck, or what will happen to the building at this point.

Why Did Trump Campaign Go To Sapphire Strip Club in Las Vegas?

1

sapphire-las-vegasIf we need any more proof that the Trump Campaign has given up, the Trump Campaign not only went to a strip club the night before the debate in Las Vegas, but invited several friendly members of the media to attend. Yes, they invited the “dishonest media” to look at boobs and get drunk.

Trump’s senor communications advisor Jason Miller made his way to the Sapphire Las Vegas Strip Club last Tuesday night along with campaign aide A.J. Delgado and Jessica Ditto, deputy communications director.

Along with them came members of the media that the campaign often lashes out against, including Noah Gray, a producer for CNN, NBC journalist Anthony Terrell, as well as unknown cameraman.

The Sapphire club is known for its topless dancers and high-priced alcoholic drinks, all taking place inside a 70,000 square foot building in the heart of the city.

While the campaign has told the media during the weekend that this was probably a “really bad idea” it’s also raised a lot of questions about the “dishonest media” which had no problem partying with members of the Trump campaign.

So why did they go? Obviously because of the strippers and booze. Duh. Why do you think?

Join Chef Nicole Brisson for a Private Dinner Cooking from Batali’s Newest Cookbook

0

brisson1We have a lot of love for anything Nicole Brisson. As one of our favorite Las Vegas chefs, we look forward to anything she does — and this is no exception, standing at the top of the list of things we want to do this next month. On Friday November 18th B&B Hospitality’s Culinary Director, Nicole Brisson will be selecting 10 recipes from Mario Batali’s  aptly titled “Big American Cookbook” in order to bring them to life for a one night only dining event at B&B Ristorante at The Palazzo and Venetian.

“This new cookbook features so many beloved classic dishes from all corners of the states. For this dinner, we carefully selected dishes from every region so that no matter where the guest is from, there is something familiar and something new to try,” said Chef Brisson.

Mario Batali searched far and wide for outstanding recipes from all corners of the United States. Then, applying the same sense of excitement and passion for cooking he famously brings to regional Italian and Spanish fare, he created his own interpretations of some of our country’s most beloved dishes.

The “Big American Cookbook” extravaganza will feature a multi-course dinner for just 40 guests. The dinner will begin at 7 p.m. with Batali’s chefs explaining the inspiration behind each of the dishes and special tips and techniques. Each guest will also receive a signed copy of the cookbook and a special take-home surprise at the end of the event. This dinner is the only one of its kind being held to showcase Batali’s  newest collection of recipes.

lasvegasfoodwinefestivaljb3gni90fxhxPublished by Grand Central Life & Style, “Big American Cookbook” features more than 250 of America’s best dishes, celebrating everything from the treasures of state fairs to shared dishes from church socials, as well as prized specialties from every ethnic group in the American melting pot. While Batali demonstrates reverence recipes passed down through the generations, he also incorporates his personal touches in each one.

The dinner will feature the following dishes with descriptions including anecdotes from the book:

Passed canapés
Oyster BBQ: In the book, Batali notes “oysters will tell you when they’re ready” to be taken off of the grill to pop open. For this hors d’oeuvre, the oysters will be served with lemon, butter and chipotle Tabasco.
Deviled Eggs: This “official” food for of picnics and potlucks is one that Batali likes on the spicy side with a squirt of Sriracha on half of these “just because.”
Clam Rolls: These rolls are served on hot dog buns that are toasted on the griddle with butter and streaks of tartar sauce with fried whole-belly steamer clams piled high.
Table bread
Corn Muffins: These muffins celebrate the sweetness of the corn, enhanced by sugar and honey, for a bread that is delectable as an accompaniment to nearly any dish.

First course (plated)
Pierogies: The noble pierogi with its cheesy mashed potatoes stuffed in pasta dough is a favorite in Cleveland and Pittsburgh.

Second course (plated)
Fisherman’s Wharf Cioppino: This San Francisco-style fish stew features clams, Dungeness crab, fish fillets and shrimp and is served in wide, shallow bowls to ensure each bowl has some of each kind of seafood.

Third course (family-style)
Bison Rib Eyes: Coffee is vital to this dish, bringing out a smoky, rich bitterness to the crust and transforming the meat into “something almost brooding in its complexity.”
Scalloped Potatoes: This dish features russet potatoes dotted with butter, drizzled with half-and-half then dusted with nutmeg, salt and peppe and baked until the inside is tender and the outside is golden brown.
Texas Caviar: In the ’50s, Helen Corbitt moved from New York to Dallas to take a job as a chef at Neiman Marcus. She was asked to put together an all-Texas menu. With that, she created this black-eyed pea dish as a way to cover up the flavor of actual caviar.
Nopales Salad: The nopal is a Mexican cactus known for its pads and is a popular ingredient in Southwestern cooking. The nopales leaves feature a unique flavor that simultaneously evokes green beans, bell pepper and okra. The salad also includes onions, tomatoes and finely chopped jalapeños.

Dessert
Boston Cream Pie: This Massachusetts classic’s name originated in the 1800s when it was served at the Parker House Hotel. Known for not being a pie but a cake, this dessert would gain so much popularity that it would become the state’s official dessert.
Grape-Nuts Ice Cream: In the New England seaboard (especially Maine) and parts of the Caribbean, Grape-Nuts is a popular mix-in to desserts. With its crunch, it makes this ice cream taste as though the cone is built right in.

Take home surprise gift from the chefs!

The price is $135 per person and includes dinner, cocktails and an autographed cookbook by Batali. Click here to purchase tickets.

Worms Found in Tacos El Gordo in Las Vegas After Hillary Clinton Eats There

1

Only a few days after Presidential Candidate Hillary Clinton dined at the restaurant, a video has been going around showing what seems to be worms living inside the taco. According to Kevin Sicairos, of Las Vegas Nevada, he went to the restaurant last week and found worms in his Tacos. He claims that he spoke to the manager of the restaurant, who they claim refused to address the situation and claimed that it “was normal” to find worms in their food as they were nothing more than “fruit worms.”

PaceVegas called Tacos El Gordo who said they were award of the situation but said that they do not comment on the health and hygiene of their facility. We contacted the Southern Nevada Health District for comment, but they were closed.

Unfortunately we could not examine the food to see what type of worm was in the taco, but there are more than a few worms and parasites that are unsafe to humans.

Many infections can be thwarted with proper hygiene – washing fruit and vegetables, including “ready-washed” lettuce, cooking meat properly and avoiding contamination from domestic or wild animals. A joint UN/WHO report said better farming and global food trade standards could also prevent parasites entering the food chain.

There are many forms of tapeworm, three of which can readily infect the brain. From a public health perspective, there’s one in particular to watch out for. “It’s mainly the pork tapeworm that’s the main brain one,” says Helena Helmby from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.

The pork species, known as Taenia Solium, can infect humans in two forms. The first is by eating undercooked pork from infected pigs, resulting in taeniasis — an adult worm residing in the intestine. The second, in the larval form, through contact with the feces of an infected pig or human, which can go on to infect many tissues. If the larval worm enters the nervous system, including the brain, it can result in a condition known as neurocysticercosis.

Vince Neil Guilty of Beating Woman At Aria in Las Vegas

0

In not so stunning news, Vince Neil, formerly of Motley Crue has once again plead guilty to battery after beating up fan outside the Aria Resort in CityCenter Las Vegas this past April.

His attorney Richard Schonfeld took care of the case, because the rocker seemingly couldn’t bother going to court to defend himself against beating a woman.

Of course, he got off with a slap on the wrist, as he only has to pay $1000 and agree to go to counseling for men who can’t control themselves.

As long as he completes his counseling, stays out of trouble for 6 months, the case will end. However, if during the 6 months something happens and he is arrested or another complaint is issued against the rocker, it’s possible the judge could still put him in jail.

Neil has a decent arrest record for battery, drunk driving, beating women, and has been ordered in the past to undergo counseling which seems to have not worked.

Mini Trump Takes Over Trump Las Vegas

0

Donald Trump didn’t just have small hands today, but had shrunk more than a couple feet. Mini Trump, a character from the crazy and innovative Beacher’s Madhouse, decided to try to take over the Trump International in Las Vegas, and make it clear he owned it.

Surrounded by his own entourage, and even faux Secret Service protection, Mini-Trump came along with Cameras to Las Vegas to make it clear, he wants to have all the attention. He also was accompanies by a supermodel, with the award “Miss Piggy.”

The results? He didn’t get very far. While he did get into the lobby, security immediately detained him and “people are saying” that he was then stripped searched, and photos sent to the real Donald. However, this rumor hasn’t been confirmed as its just what we heard “people are saying.”

Security did Tresspass him, inform Mini Trump that he is not welcome anymore at the Trump Las Vegas, or he will go to “big boy jail.”

Beacher’s had released the video on YouTube, then removed. We were able only to find the TMZ edited version.
