New York Style Pizza with Evel Knievel Theme To Open on Fremont

Set to open in October 2016 in the East Fremont Entertainment District, Evel Pie will pay tribute to legendary motorcycle daredevil Evel Knievel while serving delicious New York-style pizza by the slice and baked-to-order pies in a one-of-a-kind atmosphere. Operated in cooperation with Evel’s son Kelly, guests can expect classic pizza flavors and toppings alongside an unapologetic selection of cheap drinks, craft beers and favorite American backyard beers, including Hamm’s, Schlitz and Coors.

“Evel was the founding father and the catalyst of modern day extreme sports,” said High Horse co-founder and creative director Branden Powers, whose family owned a chain of pizza shops in the 70s. “He inspired a generation of kids to jump over their neighbors using makeshift ramps. His historic jump over the Caesars Palace fountains solidified him as a Vegas icon, and with the 50th anniversary of that jump coming up in 2017, we wanted to make sure Evel has a slice of Vegas history.”

Guests can expect the unexpected as soon as they walk in the doors, as they’re transported into a 1979 pizza shop with a few modern touches. Inspired by the motto “Live hard, ride fast, eat pizza,” Evel Pie’s design will be overseen by Powers and designer Lieuchi Fine, with the interior featuring pinball machines, Evel memorabilia, Schwinn Stingray bicycles, dogtown skateboards, a bronze statue of Evel himself and a few surprises for which Powers is known. Music will feature 70s rock, new wave and the roots of hip hop and punk, including Boston, Black Sabbath, Blondie, The Ramones, Beastie Boys and A Tribe Called Quest.

Take a Sneak Peak at Morimoto Las Vegas at the MGM Grand

0

We’ve been waiting for years for Morimoto to come to Las Vegas. As a native New Yorker, Morimoto used to be one of our favorite places, a hang out of sorts. Originally slated over two years ago to take the space in the MGM Mirage where Japonais sits, it finally is going to arrive this fall. To say we are excited to be there regularly is an understatement indeed.

We were able to take a sneak peak at the amazing food  that will be at Morimoto, and so far there is nothing that doesn’t look beyond amazingly good. As in “beyond amazingly good,” we mean “we died and went to heaven” good. Like, we might kill someone for this food, good. Amazing.

Check it out below. Wow.

Vegas Bar Industry Calls for Boycott of OWL after Owner Insults About Everyone

0

After attacking and insulting dozens of people in the bar and restaurant industry by calling people who criticized his bar “stupid,” and “crooks,” Stephen Galdau, has been kicked out of one of the main Facebook groups for the Beer and Bar industry, “Las Vegas Beer & Breweries,”only days after inviting the members for another “relaunch” of his failing bar.

Ken Swanson, the administrator of the group wrote in a post, “The owner has attacked at least three members personally when they questioned his past poor decisions. First time I have said this – but that is a bar that deserves to fail. We must respect each other – this page will not allow anything other. The owner has been removed from this group – what a shame.”

While one member was upset, and called it censorship, the vast majority of members called Mr. Galdau an “asshole,” and agreed with the decision to ban the owner.

One user, Woody Hatfield wrote that he would no longer be a customer of the bar, because of the owner’s behavior and then users criticized him for not paying his employees their wages. Another called him an “abusive asshole.” Many other people have called for a boycott of the bar in the group after being insulted by Galdau personally, and questioning his business decisions and firing and not paying of local chefs and cooks.

boycottThe owner responded to the criticism with another seemingly insane post, blaming the continued failure of his bar because of “defaming slanderous lies from a blogger….” and other “vulture owners” of bars.  Stephen Galdau had previously blamed VegasSeven writer Al Mancini for his poor success after Mancini wrote about his entire kitchen staff leaving after the State of Nevada shut them down.

Trump’s Las Vegas Condo in Free Fall as Investors Flee

According to Jason Trindale, known in Las Vegas, as the King of Condos, the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas is having a huge exodus of owners trying to sell their condos this year. While the reasons aren’t known, some are implying that foreign investors are leaving worried that Trump’s Presidential campaign may be hurting his brand.

According to Trindale, there are over 64 active listings, many for the incredible deal of under $200k – making them possibly an amazing investment for those that want to take the risk.

The prices have not only dropped in Las Vegas In July even  MSNBC host Keith Olbermann announced via Twitter that he had sold his three-bedroom apartment at Trump Palace in New York for $3.9 million, after putting it on the market in April; he absorbed a loss from his 2007 purchase price of $4.2 million. “I got out with 90% of my money and 100% of my soul!” Olbermann tweeted. “Now that I’ve escaped, I can report to you that the market in NYC @RealDonaldTrump apartments is in a free fall.”

“While it’s tempting to blame politics, it’s likely that market conditions have changed, making it harder for uber-luxurious condos to fetch top dollar,” said Nela Richardson, Redfin’s chief economist. “The luxury market has been fighting a chill since late last year and even the gold-plated faucets in Trump’s bathrooms can’t overcome a slowdown in demand from wealthy buyers caused by the rocky global markets in 2016.”

  4. Mark Davis has ensured $500 million. Does that include the money he already promised Oakland?
