Are Vegas Schools a Haven for Pedophiles? Fox5 Investigates

0

We’ve done a bunch of stories, seemingly week after week about arrests in Las Vegas Schools – and many administrators have not been happy with our coverage of perverts in the Clark County School District. There’s been also a lot of angry comments, perhaps warranted in some cases, on Facebook that claim that this makes all teachers look bad.

The concerns grow as now 11 employees have been arrested since July, and seemingly the CCSD has no plan in place to really prevent this.

However, the problem keeps occurring, in one case a parent found within weeks that his two kids had been inappropriately touched in two different situations. Chad Jensen, had to find out that his 13-year old daughter had been touched by a teacher in a sexual manner, only to find a another teacher, with a history of being a pervert was touching his 11-year old.

Here at PaceVegas we consider this to be an issue: CCSD has refused to really address the issue except one public forum recently. They do not have expert investigators who interview potential teachers, they do not have a team that is trained in crimes against children. This writer is a former “Crimes against Children” investigator, who worked in a Secret Service Task Force and with the Kings County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty Against Children. Despite that, the CCSD and my kid’s own school has refused to meet with me to learn about what they can do better.

I am  are proud to say that the media locally has also taken this seriously, especially Fox5 who will be coming out with a report this Monday. This is a serious issue and will not go away as long as the CCSD refuses to take it as serious as parents and quality educators who are speaking out. I do not blame the teachers, most who are working extremely hard daily, but the Administrators who are seemingly rewarded for doing as little as possible and ignoring the problems in their own schools.

Fewer people being killed or raped in downtown Las Vegas

0

Good news from Downtown Las Vegas #dtlv which has been often criticized as being a little on the seedy side. According to Las Vegas Metro Police, things are going the right way and finally, after years of wishful thinking about it becoming safer, something has been done: murders downtown are down 63% and sexual assault is down 11%

Metro Police had said some of the biggest challenges the agency faces are getting more guns off the streets and becoming more diverse. About 60 percent of the Las Vegas population is Hispanic, so the department is working to create a police force more reflective of the community.

Sheriff Joe Lombardo says California’s early inmate release law has a lot to do with our criminal issues. He thinks some of those ex- cons are coming to Las Vegas.

Frederick Richards not-guilty in Hyde Bellagio rape case, Faces other rape charges in California

0

Frederick Richards a former nightclub promoter, while at Hyde Nightclub was found “not guilty” of kidnapping and sexual assault charges from an incident in 2014.

A 25-year old woman testified that she had left the nightclub with Richards, and was possibly drugged — and woke up the next morning with her skirt hiked up and her underwear elsewhere.

According to his attorney, part of his business was going home with women every night, despite working with the club. This case was no different, because the woman, even though she was drunk, did want to go home with Richards.

One juror had commented “I think something happened…I don’t think the state proved it.”

Unfortunately for Richards, his legal problems are not over, as his DNA showed up in two other unsolved rape cases in California with a similar profile. Richards claims already the same defense in those cases, that the women just have “buyers remorse.”

Hyde PR wants to make it clear he was NOT affiliated with the club.

Vegas band Desire the Fire denies racism accusations but fallout from social media continues

0

Local Vegas Metal band, “Desire the Fire” has been accused by hundreds of people on social media of being racist, with the finger pointing directly at Kayla Elliot, the wife of the founder and front-man Cody Elliot. The result has been that the band has lost two of their members, both who said they no longer wanted to be affiliated with what some people called a “Neo-Nazi” band.  Also several local venues confirmed with PaceVegas they had canceled appearances of Desire the Fire, or would no longer book them for gigs.

Even the local news, Channel 13, KTNV did a story on the band, which pointed out “some of the comments were directed toward a man named Gerald Bryant. Bryant told 13 Action News the racial remarks hurt him, but the response from friends has been unbelievably uplifting. He says he’s received 50 to 100 supportive messages from people all over the world.”

Despite initially defending Mrs. Elliot’s comments, the band has come out stating that they were actually the victims, and that the account was “false” created by someone else who seemingly had a gripe with the band or Mrs. Elliot.

However, the local vegas music scene, rallied under the name the “avocado army” didn’t seem to buy it, with one person Taylor Schultz claiming that “so many people know that know her PERSONALLY vouch for her violent behavior and neo-nazi beliefs.” Another person pointed out the “fake account” was linked to her Instagram account, while another said “that account has been here since I met her at FD, that was nooo fake account, that was her in full force.”

The name “avocado army” came from the initial discussion in which Mrs. Elliot started to comment that avocados weren’t good to eat, as they had too much fat content. The result of that discussion was her seemingly turning against people of color, attacking and even identifying herself as a nazi.

PaceVegas has asked for comment from the Cody Elliot, and even offered for them to come on Air to speak about this. With no answer, we interviewed and spoke with Gerald Bryant instead about what happened and the band’s response.

Vegas metal band Desire the Fire accused of being Neo-Nazi, band member resigns

7

What goes on Facebook, seems to stay on Facebook – and get spread around Facebook. Local Vegas band “Desire the Fire” seems to have learned this the hard way, with hundreds of people on Facebook calling for the band to be boycotted after their promotions manager declared herself to be a proud Nazi, and then made borderline threats against people of different backgrounds, while also “fat shaming” people on Facebook.

According to several people we spoke to, they have had racist run-ins with Kayla Elliott, the promotions manager for the band, and the wife of their front man, Cody Elliot. They claim that she’s not only been exceedingly abusive, but has more than once posted similar “Heil Hitler” and other “Naziesque” type things in the past. One woman who described herself as a “former friend” told PaceVegas that the couple was into “Nazi Holocaust Shit.”

Their guitarist, Michael James didn’t seem to agree at all with these points of view, and on May 9th resigned from the band with a public letter posted on Facebook, saying that he does not “condone nor agree(s) with the statements/comments that were made on a public forum…that can only be described as degrading and racist in nature. This isn’t what I joined the band for nor how I think or feel… I would like to announce publicly I am no longer affiliate with Desire the Fire.”

Strangely this all came from a discussion about the benefits of eating avocados on a facebook page of Casondra Dawn. In response, Ms. Dawn wrote a post that had been shared over 114 times: “I do not associate with horrible human beings. If anyone else on my friends list is as disgusting as I just realized Kayla is, please go ahead & block me so I don’t have to look at you anymore. Smfh.”

Then another woman Ching Nga Lui wrote on her page, a post that was shared over 180 times as of writing, “So if anyone knows Kayla Elliott from the acting and modeling industry look at this disgusting human being. She just fucked with my friends and is a stupid bitch. You don’t fuck with my friends and not get heat for it. Share this and let it be known this is not how we treat each other.”

Band’s Response

The band refused to comment about the issues over Facebook, but did respond to complaint about this, defending the views of the Mrs. Elliott, and calling it “Our Views.”

We all feel that as Americans it is our GOD given right to ANY opinion we so choose. We are tolerant of other views as we expect others be tolerant of ours. Therefore this dialogue between Kayla and Josh is none our business. Just like it is none of yours. Thank you.

PaceVegas reached out to the local vegas venues that had booked the band, and did not receive comment except from Wishky a go go in West Hollywood, which claimed they had been told Mrs. Elliot’s account had seemingly been hacked—in contradiction of the defense made by the band, and the resignation of the guitarist.

0

Afshin Bahrampour, an dual Iranian and American national and Sex Offender, has been arrested in connection to two fires at a the Chabad of Southern Nevada Desert Torah Academy.

Three cars were set ablaze Monday night in the parking lot of Chabad of Southern Nevada, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported. Earlier the same evening, a trash can was set alight in a restroom inside the building. One vehicle was badly damaged, while the other two vehicles suffered minor damage.

They had previously that same night responded to another fire, set in a waste basket inside the Synagogue.

Investigators found him in the parking lot across the street, and after interviewing him, determined he was the person involved – as they had him on video setting the fire.

The Jewish nation is alive and we’re getting better and were getting stronger.”

Raiders Stadium May Not be Finished in Time for 2020 Season

0

A new timeline released by the NFL shows that the Raider’s stadium is scheduled to open in June 2020, if nothing goes wrong. However, any hiccup in the plan could mean that the Raiders wouldn’t be playing at least their first games in the new stadium.

The draft of the timeline made public Monday by the Las Vegas Stadium Authority shows construction on the proposed 65,000-seat stadium would begin in January and last 30 months, giving the team three months to move in.

he Raiders have a lease that allows them to play in Oakland through 2018. At a minimum, they’ll need other arrangements for 2019. Possibilities include one more year in Oakland, a year of stadium sharing with the 49ers, a year in Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas, or a season in another city, like San Antonio.

The NFL’s newest stadium took two-and-a-half years to complete. The first Minnesota Vikings preseason game at the venue took place in August.
