Tao Group’s Beauty and Essex to Launch May 16th in Cosmopolitan

Chris Santos, known for being a judge on the popular TV show “Chopped,” has announced that May 16th will be the start date for dinner at the “Beauty and Essex” restaurant in the Cosmopolitan. This restaurant has been in the plan for quite a while with rumors that it would be taking over the failed Comme Ca space owned by David Myer for the last two years.

Celebrity Reporter Robin Leach describes the place as:

a 10,000-square-foot space with more than 230 seats for dining and an additional 90 seats in the bar. The restaurant will be themed in jewels of all forms: pearls, gemstones, antiques and heirlooms. The custom chandelier is comprised of thousands of draped pearls.A DJ will spin the wheels of steel from a gold booth. The restaurant, which is accessed by walking through a gritty pawnshop down a 40-foot-long corridor of framed vintage lockets leading to the decadence within of three ornate dining areas, has been a hit in New York City since it opened in 2010.

They are currently hiring for two positions, but more are expected to be open soon.
