Planet Hollywood Sued for Scary Mannequin, saying caused Permanent Sexual Issues

0
Planet Hollywood Las Vegas

A Las Vegas Tourists is suing Planet Hollywood, claiming that a “scary mannequin” in his hotel room caused him to flee the room in fear and hurt himself.

Kent Jacobs Boutwell, who was visiting from Southern California, is seeking “at least $10,000” of damages from the Hotel, saying he had a “really big booboo.”

The lawsuit claims that when he entered the room, he saw the mannequin, was shocked, tried to “escape the dark room” thinking there was someone there to hurt himself, and ended up running into the wall and other stuff in the room out of fear.

Despite the mannequin being in a glass cabinet and wearing a Miller Lite racing suit, he was fearful enough to cause injuries to body, organs, mind, and nervous system, and can no longer function normally and have sexual relations.

Caesars said they would not comment on pending litigation, or Mr. Boutwell’s dysfunction.

Edward Farrell named president of Resorts World Project, new design pushes opening to 2020

0

Resorts World Las Vegas (RWLV) today announced the appointment of Edward Farrell as President of RWLV, effective immediately. As the project’s first President, Mr. Farrell will oversee all development activity on the Las Vegas Strip site and prepare the world-class, integrated resort for operations in 2020.

Mr. Farrell has worked in the casino industry for more than 30 years, beginning his career at MGM Reno while attending the University of Nevada, Reno. Mr. Farrell has held a variety of leadership positions in finance and operations and has worked in Nevada, Mississippi, Connecticut and the New York markets both in commercial and Native American operations. Prior to joining Resorts World, Mr. Farrell was Senior Vice President of Finance for Foxwoods and MGM in Connecticut and was Regional Vice President of Finance for the Mid-South Region of Harrah’s Entertainment.

“Resorts World Las Vegas presents a unique opportunity to bring the Genting Group’s experience in developing and operating Asia’s leading integrated resorts to the United States, offering visitors to Las Vegas a new and compelling reason to stay on the north end of the Strip,” said Mr. Farrell. “I am grateful to KT Lim, the Chairman of the Genting Group, for placing his faith in me to execute his vision and deliver a once-in-a-lifetime project that Las Vegas and Nevada can be extraordinarily proud of.”

Unfortunately, the project will be delayed one more year, with an Opening of 2020 instead of 2019 — because of a new design that will focus on younger gamblers.

“The initial drawing had a lot of traditional, older Chinese architecture and elements that were within it,” said Farrell,”The company has really taken a look at the market in Las Vegas throughout the past couple of years, and it has really shifted to something that’s much more modern.”

“There were a lot of stops and starts with this project, some redesigns, but from the dialogue we had this morning, I’m very convinced that they’ve got a plan moving forward, and they are committed to a specific timeframe,” said Clark County commission chairman Steve Sisolak.

Ozzy and Sharon Renew Vows in Las Vegas

Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne have renewed their wedding vows, according to reports.

The Black Sabbath rocker and his wife held a private ceremony at the Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas on Sunday which coincided with America’s Mother’s Day, the Mirror reported.

Previously Sharon had told how she wanted to renew their vows after their marriage was rocked last year when it was discovered that Ozzy, 68, embarked on an affair with hairdresser, Michelle Pugh.

She said: “Ozzy has asked me to renew our wedding vows and I’d like to.

“I’m happy, and to be honest that’s all I want for Christmas this year.”

Since his affair with Pugh emerged Ozzy has undergone sex rehab and also made a public gesture of handing Sharon, 65, a diamond wedding ring on her US chat show The Talk in October.

The hairdresser confessed she fell for the Black Sabbath frontman, who she claims first pursued her one year after their first meeting in 2011, calling him the “love of my life”.

The couple have been married in July 1982.

Vegas Restaurant Week Returns to Benefit Feeding Local Homeless

0

Restaurants around the Las Vegas Valley are pulling pork, crusting halibut, frying rice and brûlée-ing crèmes in preparation for Southern Nevada’s premiere culinary event, Las Vegas Restaurant Week. After more than 10 years and $1.2 million raised for Three Square, the annual event will return June 19-30, 2017.

Las Vegas Restaurant Week kicks off Friday, June 16 with a “Summer Cookout featuring Robert Irvine & Friends” at Sky Beach Club at Tropicana Las Vegas. Chef Irvine will host the poolside party, challenging guests to ping pong, tug-of-war and other adult-style summer camp games, while they nosh on fresh summertime salads, barbeque and refreshing cocktails from local restaurants. Proceeds from the ticketed event will benefit Three Square.

Beginning June 19, Restaurants will create their own prix-fixe menu offered at price points ranging from $20 to $80, with a fixed portion of the proceeds benefitting Three Square and the fight against hunger in Southern Nevada.

Restaurants already confirmed to participate include: Andiron, Bouchon Bistro, Cleo, Eiffel Tower, Foundation Room, Fogo de Chao, Hearthstone, Gilley’s Bar-B-Que, MOzen Bistro, Silverado Steakhouse, Urban Turban and Zenshin among many others.

“This is simply the most wonderful time to eat in Las Vegas,” said Three Square CEO Brian Burton. “We are fortunate to live in a city with access to some of the best restaurants in the world, and they make themselves even more accessible with affordable menus that help feed the less-fortunate at the same time.”

A website devoted to Las Vegas Restaurant Week – www.helpoutdineoutlv.org – will launch June 6, providing the list of participating restaurants and bars and menu details. The easy-to-navigate, mobile-friendly site allows diners to search by type of cuisine and offers the option to book a reservation through opentable.com or yelp.com.

100 percent of the proceeds collected from participating restaurants benefits Three Square and its mission to provide meals to more than 296,000 hungry residents in Southern Nevada. The 2016 iteration alone put more than half a million meals back out into the community.

Diners are encouraged to share their experiences and be a part of the conversation on Twitter and Instagram by following @threesquarelv and using the hashtags #LVRW and #HelpOutDineOutLV, and on Facebook by ‘Liking’ the Las Vegas Restaurant Week page – http://on.fb.me/lvrwfb.

ABOUT LAS VEGAS RESTAURANT WEEK AND THREE SQUARE
Las Vegas Restaurant Week began in 2007 as a way to give locals and tourists the opportunity to help out by dining out.
2016 marked the tenth year of Las Vegas Restaurant Week, which features a variety of fine dining experiences throughout the Valley. Proceeds from Restaurant Week benefit Three Square, Southern Nevada’s only food bank. Three Square currently provides more than 40 million pounds of food and grocery product – the equivalent of more than 33 million meals – per year to more than 1,300 community partners including nonprofit and faith-based organizations, schools and feeding sites throughout Southern Nevada. Three Square is a member of the Feeding America network of food banks. For additional information visit  www.helpoutdineoutlv.org.

CBD Oil becomes popular for Vegas Workers that Need to Pass Drug Tests

0

For many in Las Vegas, even having a medical marijuana card in Las Vegas isn’t enough for many workers. All casinos still ban their workers from taking any form of the product, even if it’s to save their lives. For those who desperately need treatment, the legality doesn’t matter: they have to choose to take medical marijuana or lose their jobs.

Most people have heard of a chemical called THC, which is the ingredient that gets users high. But recently, attention has shifted to another compound in marijuana called CBD — and for good reason: it’s the part of marijuana that helps with pain and suffering, and it isn’t detected on drug tests. For those who need the product, medical grade CBD Oil is a perfect way to take it and not be seen as a “drug user” by their employer. It’s completely undetectable and legal in Nevada!

According to Drug testing expert Barry Sample, who is the director of science and technology for Quest Diagnostics, one of the larger diagnostic testing firms in the U.S.

“If the product contains only CBD and has had the THC removed, then an individual being tested would not be expected to test positive for marijuana or marijuana metabolite,” Sample said.

Although CBD and THC act on different pathways of the body, they seem to have many of the same medical benefits. According to a 2013 review published in the British Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, studies have found CBD to possess many medical properties that can benefit everyone.

Dr. Ethan Russo, a neurologist and psychopharmacology researcher, notes in a 2011 study that the therapeutic effects of CBD are broad, including: analgesic, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, anti-emetic (prevents vomiting), anti-anxiety, anti-psychotic, anti-convulsant and cytotoxic in certain cancer cells.

The CBD oil comes in many forms that have shown to benefit many people including those with arthritis. Cannabis-infused lotions, salves, oils, sprays, and other transdermal methods of relief work by binding to a network of receptors called CB2. These CB2 receptors are found throughout the body and are activated either by the body’s naturally-occurring endocannabinoids or by cannabis compounds known as “phytocannabinoids” (e.g., THC, CBD).

Superstar Vegas Attorney Marc Randaza beats Phishers in Court for Faking Legal Site

0

Mark Randazza and Randazza Legal Group, announced a major victory on behalf of online legal marketplace Avvo in Avvo, Inc. v. Chang Liang, et al., after a Federal Court in Arizona awarded Avvo a $2 million dollar judgment against hackers who created a rip off website that copied the well-known legal review site.

Avvo, the leading legal marketplace connecting lawyers with consumers, features a legal directory with detailed, Avvo-rated profiles with consumer and peer reviews. In Avvo, Inc. v. Chang Liang, et al., the defendants engaged in a “phishing” scam, and created fake websites that copied these Avvo profiles entirely, in an effort to trick consumers and lawyers into revealing personal or confidential information.

Avvo discovered the site and was able to have it taken down before it was functional. Avvo has seen no indication that any users revealed personal information. “We are deeply committed to helping consumers and lawyers connect, and take every precaution to protect the privacy and security of the millions of people visiting Avvo.com to do just that,” said Avvo Chief Legal Officer Josh King. “We took immediate action to eliminate any threat to that protection, and are confident that the court’s judgement sends a strong message in deterring any future breaches to our secure and valued network.”

“We are delighted that Avvo had the confidence in us to handle such an important matter,” said Managing Partner Marc Randazza. “The Court not only awarded damages and costs for prospective corrective advertising, but also granted full attorneys’ fees under the Octane Fitness standard. Avvo stood up to protect privacy, fight against phishing, and got a significant judgement.”

The Lanham Act permits fee awards in “exceptional cases” and the U.S. Supreme Court declared in Octane Fitness that an exceptional case is one that “stands out from others.”

Here, the District Court specifically found that this case is “exceptional” under the Octane Fitness standard because the hackers’ fake website blatantly and egregiously duplicated Avvo’s intellectual property for nefarious purposes.

Merely winning a case is not enough to qualify as “exceptional” under the Lanham Act. The phishing scam and the degree of proof made this case exceptional. Randazza and the attorneys at Randazza Legal Group hope that this case will serve as a warning to hackers and thieves who engage in phishing scams.

The case is Avvo, Inc. v. Chang Liang, et al., case number 2 :16-cv-00892-PGR, in the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona.

Chumlee of Pawns Stars is Opening (A very delayed) Candy Store

0

Austin Lee Russell, also known as “Chumlee” from the reality TV show Pawn Stars has announced his new idea: He’s going to open his own Candy Shop.

Before you think he’s selling something else, after his infamous arrest for drug possession, “candy” really means candy, and nothing else.

Named “Chumlee’s Candy on the Boulevard,” has had it’s opening pushed back now twice, from May 4th, to May 12th to now, seemingly sometime next week.

There’s no word on whether Chumlee’s new store will be the focus of a reality television show, but regardless, there should be a fair share of weirdness occurring in the candy store.

Chumlee took a plea deal in 2016 after multiple guns and drugs found in his Las Vegas home.

Unfortunately Pawn Plaza has not done well, and many of the restaurants have closed.

Raiders Wont be in Vegas until 2021?

0

The Oakland Raiders are moving to Las Vegas. It’s inevitable. However, it may very well be an extremely awkward four years of them staying in the Bay area while fans are upset they are moving.

Originally, it appeared that the Raiders were on track to move to Nevada by 2020, but now, the relocation may be delayed until 2021.

Raiders President Marc Badain stated that if his team and the Las Vegas Stadium Authority board cannot come to an agreement by May 22, they would probably have to push back the move another year.

“In order to approve a lease, you need full membership, and the league has four meetings a year: one in March, one in May, one in October and one in December,” said Badain after a meeting at the stadium authority board. “So, if you miss the May deadline, you push to October, we would lose a year, and everybody wants to get this project going, everybody wants to get these guys to work. So we didn’t want to miss that deadline.”

League owners approved the Raiders’ wishes for a relocation in March. Stadium Authority board chairman Steve Hill is confident that something will get done by the deadline.

“There’s been no ‘get this done or else’ type of approach on this request (from the NFL), certainly done in a very appropriate manner. But I understand, particularly from the Raiders’ perspective and really from ours as well, the desire to move this forward,” he said.

The Raiders are coming off their first postseason appearance since the 2002-03 campaign, when they went to the Super Bowl and lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Oakland lost in the Wild Card Round to the Houston Texans last season with quarterback Derek Carr sidelined due to a broken leg.

Pervert Vegas Doctor Facing 14 Rape Charges, Had History of Touching Kids

0

Trust was the word a prosecutor used to open trial in Las Vegas for a suspended medical doctor accused of drugging women and patients, and videotaping himself having sex with them.

Prosecutor Alexander Chen told a jury that Binh Minh “Ben” Chung disrespected and ignored the love and trust he had as a husband, father, friend and physician.

Chen showed photos from graphic videos Chung is accused of making, and said Chung’s ex-wife and former friends will testify against him.

Prosecutors say the physician would sedate his victims, and film the sexual acts. Police say it was his wife who turned him in after finding videos of the alleged acts.

At the time his wife discovered he was a rapist, a teen patient of his told police Chung took her to his office for “treatment,” drugged her and had sex with her.

The 43-year-old Chung sat impassively and defense attorney Betsy Allen didn’t deny what she called daunting and inflammatory charges.

She asked the jury to listen to whether the state proves its case.

Chung has pleaded not guilty to 14 charges including sexual assault, kidnapping, administering a drug to aid commission of a felony and lewdness.

One review on Yelp says that the doctor, despite not being an OBGYN had asked his patents to consent to vaginal exams.

Unfortunately, the doctor was  was initially accused of fondling a 15-year-old girl in 2006 after she sought treatment for pink eye, according to KSNV. That case was dismissed after Chung performed 100 hours of community service, took “impulse control” classes and told authorities he would “stay out of trouble.” Why his license wasn’t suspended after that, raises a lot of questions.
