The Democratic National Committee is taking aim at Sen. Dean Heller on Monday with the unveiling of a billboard near the Las Vegas strip and a mobile billboard that will drive around Heller’s office in Las Vegas, The Hill reported.
The billboard contains pictures of Heller smiling at a meeting with President Donald Trump.
The mobile ad includes a looping video of Heller.
“Tell Heller to wipe that grin off his face and start working for Nevadans,” the video ad said.
“Senator Heller broke his promise to improve healthcare for his constituents, voting for a bill that would take healthcare away from millions of Americans. A repeal of the Affordable Care Act would result in as many as 371,000 Nevadans losing their healthcare and cause Nevada to lose 22,100 jobs,” said Tom Perez, the Democratic National Committee chairman, in a statement, The Hill reported.
Heller is seen as the Republican incumbent most in danger of losing his seat in the 2018 midterm elections. In the 2016 election, Trump lost the state to Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton.

If you’re like most of us, you really could care less, but for hardcore Sharknado fans, this might be the dream of your lifetime.
The crazy, quite campy cult series by SyFy will open next year if you’re to believe the producers of the series who announced it at the Linq Hotel at the premiere of Sharknado 5.
However, Sunday’s premiere of “Sharknado 5: Global Swarming” on Syfy drew a 0.6 rating among adults 18-49 and 1.89 million viewers. That’s down from 0.8 and 2.77 million viewers for “Sharknado 4” last year and the second-lowest premiere numbers of the series so far, ahead of only the first movie.
Dozens of people have been tested for tuberculosis after an employee of a school in Las Vegas died of the disease in mid-July.
Dr. Joseph Iser is head of the Southern Nevada Health District. He tells the Las Vegas Review-Journal the woman was unable to speak by the time health officials learned of her case.
The Clark County School District would not reveal the woman’s title or name. However a school district employee identified the victim, who died July 19 at Sunrise Hospital, as Maria Alvarez, a special education teacher at the school.
Fremont Middle School principal Ann Schiller left a phone message to parents saying health officials would contact them if their children needed to be tested.
Tuberculosis bacteria are spread through the air. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says almost 500 people died of tuberculosis in the U.S. in 2014.
Officials have screened 114 people who had contact with the woman. Iser says 67 have tested negative so far.

Bad news for medical marijuana marijuana users in Las Vegas, after the 9th Circuit Court of appeals ruled that you can NOT own a gun.
The court ruled unanimously that the Nevada ban preventing medical marijuana users from purchasing firearms is not a violation of the Constitution, as there is a compelling interest to prevent habitual users from owning guns as it “raises the risk of irrational or unpredictable behavior with which gun use should not be associated.”
The lawsuit was filed by S. Rowan Wilson, who said that although she is a medical marijuana card holder in the State of Nevada, she does not actually smoke. However, the ATF determined that is a fair assumption to assume that all card holders do indeed smoke marijuana, and should be banned from gun ownership.
So for now, it’s illegal in Las Vegas to buy or own a gun if you’re a medical marijuana card holder.
In what many in Las Vegas are calling a travesty of justice, a Las Vegas doctor, Jorge Burgo who plead guilty to molesting his patents, recieved only three years probation and seven days in local jail, one for each of his victims.
Judge Richard Scotti,
Clark County District Judge Richard Scotti was heavily criticized for his decision, even though he told the doctor to “reflect, each day, about what you did to each of these women.” The judge also agreed that Burgo would only have to serve the sentence over the weekends, so that he could continue to touch patents.
Many defendants in the Court Room expressed disbelief that the doctor was getting less time than most defendants in minor charges. In one case, he lifted a patents shirts, and started sucking on her breasts during an exam, and was curious why the patent was offended by the act.
He will have to register as sex offender, which is some consolation to his victims. He had faced 16 counts total, but only was sentenced to 3 of them as part of the plea agreement.
Defense claimed that the doctor faced “great shame” over his actions, and claimed that despite doing it many, many times, it was not in his normal character.
After the sentence, he went outside and groped co-workers in celebration outside the courthouse.
Despite the conviction and the Sex Offender registration, the Doctor is still in business and free to continue to touch patents.
Tropicana Las Vegas has officially opened its highly anticipated restaurant in partnership with Celebrity Chef Robert Irvine – Robert Irvine’s Public House. The renowned chef and TV personality celebrated opening day in true Robert Irvine fashion by descending upon Las Vegas Boulevard with a three-vehicle military-inspired convoy. Chef Irvine topped himself by making his grand entrance by arriving via helicopter, where he landed on the Northeast entrance of the iconic property, just off the famed Las Vegas Strip.
Chef Irvine was accompanied by Medal of Honor recipient, Hershel W. Williams, as well as his wife, Gail Kim and VP and General Manager at Tropicana Las Vegas, Aaron Rosenthal. Upon arrival, Chef Irvine was welcomed by 30 active-duty military, Tropicana team members and property executives, and together they commenced the celebration with an official ribbon-cutting affair, complete with a brick wall-inspired ice sculpture, which Chef Irvine knocked down with a sledge hammer – for a one-of-a-kind opening celebration. The military guests were then treated to a first taste of the all-new restaurant hosted by Chef Irvine himself in honor of its opening day.
“After much anticipation, we are thrilled to finally welcome Robert Irvine’s Public House to Tropicana Las Vegas,” said Rosenthal, VP and General Manager for Tropicana Las Vegas. “Chef Irvine will truly redefine the dining experience on property, and we are excited to embark on a new culinary journey here at Tropicana Las Vegas – allowing our guests to enjoy the property as a premier destination on The Strip.”
Boasting nearly 9,000 square feet, the restaurant features a 275-seat dining room complete with a wraparound bar, open kitchen design, private dining room and views of The Strip. The new restaurant offers a range of comfort food options inspired by Chef Irvine’s culinary travels from around the world – all in a pub-like atmosphere. Highlights include fork and knife burger (Vermont sharp cheddar fondue, mushrooms, onions, smoked bacon, brioche roll); chicken fried duck confit (maple and sherry vinegar, braised kale and chard, buttery sriracha sauce); stone fired shepherds pie (ground lamb, onion, English peas, mashed potato crust); English banoffee pie (banana, toffee, espresso ice cream); and mason jar apple pie (5-year aged cheddar, vanilla ice cream), to name a few.
We have the video below of him arriving in Las Vegas
“Opening a restaurant in Las Vegas has been a longtime dream of mine and being inside the iconic Tropicana Las Vegas makes Public House that much more extraordinary,” said Chef Irvine. “With this restaurant, I am excited to share my travels through food and beverage, and presenting guests with good food and a great experience, all at a reasonable price. Public House is all about offering something for everyone.”
To complement the overall dining experience, guests can imbibe with an emporium of beer, wine, and craft cocktails options. The restaurant features over 32 beers on tap, 30 by the bottle, plus a variety of wines by the glass or bottle, and over a dozen signature cocktails – allowing for the perfect night out for any occasion. Signature cocktails include Patron Tequila cocktails featuring Patron Reposada and Anejo barrels hand-selected by Robert Irvine at Patron Hacienda such as El Karma and The Patroni; as well as healthy-inspired cocktails made with Boardroom Spirits such as the Cranberry Caipiroska and Beet Down, and much more.
Fourteen months ago, Chef Irvine made headlines after he rappelled 22 stories (220 feet) down the exterior of the Tropicana Las Vegas to announce his first-ever restaurant concept in Sin City.
Robert Irvine’s Public House, located on the casino floor of Tropicana Las Vegas, is open for daily from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Reservations can be made by calling (702) 739-2307. For more information, please visit www.troplv.com.
f you think spotting three Georges around the same public dinner table would be a mirage, then the sight of three families, each with three generations of George, breaking bread together at the same restaurant, in the same week, might as well be called Sasquatch; but that’s exactly what happened during anniversary month at the Triple George Grill at the Downtown Grand Hotel & Casino.
While the Triple George Grill continues to reward all single and double Georges with appetizers and whiskey for its 12th anniversary “Cheers to George” campaign through the month of July, the elusive “Triple George” (that’s three Georges feasting as one) had proven to be as mythical as the 96 oz. porterhouse steak that would be awarded to such a fortuitous table of three.
But then…
The iconic Downtown Las Vegas eatery hit the jackpot by landing the once fabled “George-fecta,” family style, THREE TIMES and welcomed nine Georges from three generations, and three different bloodlines in the same week. Each family was presented with their king’s ransom, a 96 oz. porterhouse for the table, and smiled big for a photo opportunity with the Triple George staff and their newly inherited spoils of namesake. Yes! That’s three families, 300 years of Georges, and eighteen pounds of steak IN ONE WEEK!
The Triple George Grill kicked off its 12th anniversary celebration on July 12th with 144 hours of happy hour for all patrons through July 23rd. Daily specials ranged from discounted drinks, appetizers, prizes, and give-a-ways for everyone at the counter bar during this memorable 12-day run.
This month-long toast to a Downtown Las Vegas classic forges ahead forges ahead with its “Cheers to George” campaign and will continue to celebrate all those men (and women) lucky enough to be named George with the following specials through July 31st:
Single George: Complimentary appetizer with meal
Double George: Complimentary whiskey flight and dessert with meal
Triple George: Complimentary 96 oz. porterhouse steak for the table
After spending part of the morning implying that his life was in possible danger, that his office has been “broken into by burglars,” and he had “had his life threatened,” Dean Heller has to backtrack on these claims pretty fast after local police contradicted the claims.
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police determined that no break-in had occurred, and all that had happened is that an angry constituent had left a note in a public area.
Heller’s office had said earlier that police were investigating a weekend break-in at the lawmaker’s Las Vegas Senate office, and quickly attempted to make Senator Heller look like a victim.
Heller has become more famous than normal, after he said he may not vote for Trumpcare. Pressure has been put on him to declare support for the bill. Heller is also the only GOP senator up for re-election in 2018 in a state that Trump lost, making him one of the most vulnerable Republicans in the next election.
