Mandalay Bay Screws Up and Loses Rick Moonen

0

Rick Moonen and his wife Roni, along with most of the employees announced that they were forced to shut down RM Seafood and Rx Boiler Room after they were unable to come to new terms on a the lease. Unfortunately, according to Al Mancini of the Las Vegas Review Journal, over 120 employees will be without jobs come Monday.

Chef and cookbook author Rick Moonen has been a leading advocate for the sustainable seafood movement for 25 years and has worked alongside the likes of L’Hostellerie Bressane’s Jean Morel and Le Cirque’s Alain Sailhac.

According to Mancini, “Moonen plans to move forward with restaurant concept consulting; his online lifestyle network “Feast it Forward”; product endorsements; various charity events; and promoting sustainable seafood as a member of the Blue Ribbon Task Force through the Monterey Bay Aquarium. He is adamant about his intention to remain in Las Vegas and continue serving its residents. He says he currently has multiple concepts in development, with an eye toward opening a restaurant off the Strip.”

This is really bad news for Mandalay Bay which has struggled even before shooting a little over a year ago. Cancelations after the shooting doubled, and the restaurants suffered. Spoke people like Debta DeShong tried to claim that this was seasonal, but it soon became very clear that that Mandalay Bay had some serious issues.

As MGM’s fourth-largest property, Mandalay Bay accounts for 8.5 percent of its revenue, with much of its business coming from conventions attracted to its 2 million square feet of exhibition space. According to MGM internal documents, some leisure tourists are electing to stay away from the property and, along with potential Monte Carlo guests, are opting to stay with competitors.

This move is a serious disaster for MGM and shows how restaurants and companies are fleeing Mandalay Bay because they are unable to come to a good lease agreement with the restaurants. What will be left soon will be chain restaurants, and Mandalay Bay will be another mediocre casino too far for most people to visit.

Escort Testifies Against NYPD Brass involved in Sex Escapade in Las Vegas

Gabi Grecko — whose real name is Gabriella Curtis — shared her account of the notorious flight to Las Vegas on Super Bowl weekend in February 2013 that is central to the case against Deputy Inspector James Grant and businessman Jeremy Reichberg. Former Deputy Inspector James Grant was allegedly treated to a trip to Las Vegas via a private plane, where a prostitute was on board; a two-night suite at a hotel room in Rome; and countless lavish gifts, dinners and home improvement projects in exchange for granting special favors to Borough Park businessman Jeremy Reichberg, prosecutors said.

According to her story, she engaged in numerous sex acts with the Orthodox Jewish Jeremy Reichberg and other men on the flight to Las Vegas, and in the hotels.

She claims she was ripped off, and only got $1,500 for the three days of orgies.

“I was not very happy. It was not very much…That many days with those type of people,” Grecko, 29, said. “It was a long weekend.”

“James Grant let himself be bought,” said Assistant U.S. Attorney Jessica Lonergan during opening arguments in the NYPD corruption trial Tuesday in Manhattan federal court. “He betrayed his oath as an officer of the NYPD and broke the law.”

Prosecutors claim the Hasidic businessman paid for new windows and railings at Grant’s home, and bought his wife and kids expensive Christmas gifts, including jewelry and a Nintendo gaming system.

In 2008, Reichberg met business partner Jona Rechnitz — a wealthy real estate developer who testified he made large donations to Mayor Bill de Blasio and other politicians and received special treatment — and the two teamed-up to get favors and NYPD access. De Blasio has denied Rechnitz’s allegations.

Rechnitz has since pleaded guilty to his role in the bribery scheme in exchange for cooperating with the feds. Defense attorneys painted Rechnitz — the government’s star witness — as a wanna-be rich guy who bribed cops to elevate his status in the community.

At 8:50 a.m., Las Vegas Metro Police received a request that officers be on scene to keep the peace as a crane was brought on scene to remove a U-Haul truck from an empty pool.

The driver of the U-Haul said he was pulling the truck into the yard to load up the truck, but accidentally hit the gas instead of the brake, sending the vehicle careening into the pool.

Man Almost Beheaded in New Las Vegas Zipline

0

Two people were injured earlier this week while riding Las Vegas’ newest attraction the Fly LINQ, a new attraction above the Las Vegas Strip. According to bystanders, the guests were flying in a prone position and brakes were not appropriately deployed and one guest had to receive “multiple staples” to his head after hitting part of the attraction. He claimed that a few more inches, it was possible his head would have been taken off.

Guests will no longer be able to ride in the “prone” position while the incident is under investigation. They will be able to ride in the seated position.

The LVRJ noted the “super-hero” position didn’t seem very safe or normal.  “For superhero-style riders, clipping into the cable is a clumsy affair. As guests dangle, attendants juggle their legs behind them, manipulating the series of safety straps. Unclear instructions such as “bend your foot” and “straighten your leg so it’s over your knee” add to the brief confusion.”

The new attraction doesn’t officially open to the public until Nov. 9, so it’s gone officially Zero days without a major accident.

GOP Candidate’s Wife Gives Weird Concession Speech Blaming Nevada

0

Yearly electioon loser Danny Tarkanian lost again for the 7th record time and decided that it was best that someone else give the concession speech. Tarkanian said, “I’m going to turn this over to my wife, she will be more articulate.” Boy, was he wrong.

The pageant mom basically went full “I want to see the management” on the entire Las Vegas Valley, and claimed that people in Las Vegas were basically too dumb to elect her husband.

More than a few users on Twitter commented that she seemed drunk.

Jacky Rosen (D) Beats Dean Heller (R)

0

PaceVegas is calling it for Jacky Rosen, Democrat to win over Dean Heller.

Heller was the only GOP senator seeking another term in a state Hillary Clinton won. He was once a critic of President Donald Trump but is now banking on the president’s political power to carry him across the finish line.

Three years ago, the Republican senator returned a campaign donation from Trump, and two years ago Heller told reporters he “vehemently opposed” the billionaire. Then suddenly they seemed to become best friends.

Killer Wyoming Cop Derek Colling Was Fired From LVMPD for Killing Civilians

1

On Sunday, Nov. 4th 2018, it was reported that 39-year-old Robbie Ramirez had been shot to death in Laramie, Wyoming by a deputy from the Albany County Sheriff’s Office. Ramirez spent his life battling mental illness. The two reportedly graduated high school together, as the family of Ramirez believes Colling was aware of the victim’s mental illness.

Mother of the victim, Debra Hinkel, claims she heard he tried to get home after a traffic stop. Hinkel, who’s been the owner of a healing center for seven years, didn’t support Albany County Sherriff O’ Malley’s decision to hire the deputy she heard is responsible for her son’s death. However, she is supportive of the work O’Malley has done to help make sure officers are trained in how to handle people who suffer from a mental illness.

However, since the initial reports of that shooting Ramirez’ family has identified the deputy who killed him as former LVMPD Officer Derek Colling. No doubt that has not been confirmed by Albany County officials because Sheriff Dave O’Malley, who hired Colling even though he was fully aware of his previous firing, is currently running for reelection. With voters heading to the polls later today, reports that an unpopular hiring decision by O’Malley has resulted in a fatal shooting would be pretty inconvenient for him.

According to previous media reports, Colling was fired from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department in 2011 for beating a videographer who refused to turned his camera off during a police incident. He had also been involved in the killing of two civilians, including a mentally disabled individual.
