Good news from Downtown Las Vegas #dtlv which has been often criticized as being a little on the seedy side. According to Las Vegas Metro Police, things are going the right way and finally, after years of wishful thinking about it becoming safer, something has been done: murders downtown are down 63% and sexual assault is down 11%
Metro Police had said some of the biggest challenges the agency faces are getting more guns off the streets and becoming more diverse. About 60 percent of the Las Vegas population is Hispanic, so the department is working to create a police force more reflective of the community.
