Charlie Sheen to Star in New Cirque du Soleil Show

1

Cirque Du Soleil and Charlie Sheen have announced that they have come to an agreement to create a new live show based on the life of the TV and Movie Star. The Show to be named Tiger Blood will be the first biographical show that Cirque du Soleil has ever done. While Tiger Blood will be in Las Vegas, the casino has not yet been determined, but talks with the Hooter’s Casino have been in the works for sometime.

“I’m delighted to be a part of the Cirque du Soleil family,” Sheen told PaceVegas. “They have a long history of doing amazing productions, and I believe that they can best portray the ups and downs of my #winning life.”

Sheen, who had his crazy and tumultuous life made public during the famous firing of from his show “Two and a Half Men,” claims that he can get his life together for the show.

“My Tiger Blood, even with HIV can solve everything,” Sheen told us over the phone. “I plan to get ready by cleansing my Tiger Blood with a new solution from a Doctor I met on a cruise to Spain.” According to Sheen this Doctor has a YouTube channel and has cured at least a dozen people from HIV with his cocaine-based solution.

The theatrical show will follow Sheen, born Carlos Irwin Estévez, from the start of his career in the movie Platoon to the recent diagnosis of HIV that was given to him during one of his many, many random sexual encounters.

“Portraying Sheen in Platoon will be an unique and fun experience, especially the scenes from Platoon” said Jean-Jean Poutine, the Director of Theater Operations for all Las Vegas Cirque Shows. “We plan to be able to portray the violence of the Vietnam war through having Sheen on a bungee cord, where he is shooting at Viet Cong soldiers. This should be super exciting for everyone.”

Poutine notes that they would have to change a lot of the dialogue, and make it a lot less violent.

“Nerf Guns are a solution that everyone has talked about. We hope that it will not only be visible during the show, but that guests are less likely to be hurt than a real gun,” said Poutine. “However, like any Cirque du Soleil show, there is always a risk someone will lose an eye by a flying kid or something.”

The show plans to sympathetically portray Sheen’s HIV Diagnosis, with Sheen being propelled from a vat of creamy water into the sky, almost as if he is being ejaculated.

Sheen has been recently criticized by the media for purposely exposing his lovers to HIV, and then lying about it to everyone. There is no word if this will be included in the show at a later date.

Is Smoking in Vegas Ending: Westgate Starts to Ban Smoking

2

Maybe it’s a sign of the time, maybe it’s because Westgate is trying to get more attention to its off strip property. However, for whatever reason, Westgate Las Vegas is now banning smoking in its One Sports Race and Sports SuperBook.

According to the Vice President of Race and Sports Operations, Jay Kornegay, this is because of health reason: “A lot of people characterize sports bettors as, you know, smoking cigars and gambling and all these games, but they’re very health conscious people.”

While Nevada banned smoking in most public places in 2006, smoking is still allowed in clubs and casino floors.

Whether to allow smoking in Casinos has been a huge debate in Las Vegas for the last decade. While many tourists are pushing more and more for smoke to be banned in Casinos, local business leaders are scared the ban would keep some tourists away.

The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) released a report in 2009 showing workers in Las Vegas casinos are exposed to dangerous levels of secondhand smoke at work. The NIOSH report recommends making casinos 100% smokefree to ensure indoor air within casinos is safe for workers to breathe.

NIOSH conducted indoor air quality tests and biomarker assessments on 124 card dealers in Bally’s, Caesars Palace, and Paris casinos on the Las Vegas strip. Researchers found secondhand smoke components in the air including nicotine, 4-vinyl pyridine, solanesol, benzene, toluene, p-dichlorormethane, and formaldehyde. Researchers also conducted urinary testing of workers during and after their shifts which indicated cancer causing toxins in secondhand smoke were absorbed into workers’ bodies.

The 2006 Smoking ban was partially blamed for the 2010 Bankruptcy of Herbst Gaming, which was the states largest slot machine route operator. When bars, restaurants and taverns were no longer allowed to have smoking everywhere, the company suffered a 20 percent decline in revenues, according to Deutch Bank gaming analyst Andrew Zarnett.

Stephanie Steinberg, the chairperson for “Smoking-Free Gaming of America” disagrees with this assessment: “Bad weather, gas prices, market saturation, competition, casino debt, the recession that began in 2008 that severely affected all gaming revenues, including Vegas, are the other cards missing from his deck. Smoking bans are not the cause of revenue declines, rather, it’s poor business planning.”

In 2005, the NGBA was incorporated and granted 501c3 non-profit status to fulfill the mission of bringing the game of basketball to LGBT players across the United States and the world.”

Local Man Records Blurry Glowing Object Shopping in Downtown Summerlin

0

When Steven Barone scanning the sky looking for UFOs, he’s probably annoying all his friends telling them stories about how he “almost captured” a UFO on camera. However, he has a story this time to tell everyone, when he video-taped an out of focus, glowing object in Downtown Summerlin that could be anything whatsoever, and called it a UFO.

Yes, as he does every night, he sits in the backyard, staring into the sky, enjoying a beer, waiting for the aliens to visit him again and wondering why his friends refuse to talk to him.

“Little by little I started spending more time outside each night,” said Barone. Then just ten days ago, Barone says he saw something strange. “I saw a really bright orange light,” he said. “It was just like a fireball.”

Barone pointed his night vision camera, because the fireball was so dark, at the bright orange light and posted what he recorded on YouTube, which looked absolutely nothing like a fireball but instead a blurry glowing object.

Avicii Calls it Quits to Being a DJ

0

Just days after Victor Drai declared that the mega DJ world was going to collapse, it seems that maybe some of the DJs are taking his prediction seriously. Despite only being 26 year old, the Swedish EDM Star Avicii has announced that he’s calling it quits to being a DJ. With almost $100 million to his name, it seems that he’s decided that he no longer needs the money.  He’s currently the most sought out EDM DJ in the world, and every event is constantly sold out. However, he claims that the touring and DJing has affected him in some really bad ways.

“I will however never let go of music,” wrote Avicii in a statement on his official site. “I will continue to speak to my fans through it, but I’ve decided this 2016 run will be my last tour and last shows. Let’s make them go out with a bang! One part of me can never say never, I could be back …but I won’t be right back.”

“My choices and career have never been driven by material things, although I’m grateful for all the opportunities and comforts my success has availed me,” he wrote. “I know I am blessed to be able to travel all around the world and perform, but I have too little left for the life of a real person behind the artist.”

There had been rumors that he had been in rehab and that had canceled some tour dates because of a drug overdose.

Hello world,

Thank you for letting me fulfill so many of my dreams. I will be forever grateful to have experienced and accomplished all that I have with the help of the team around me and my beloved fans. Thank you to all my peers in the business for building a new movement that took the world by storm and I was lucky enough to be in the middle of it. Thank you to all my partners through the years who believed in what I have created and wanted to amplify my work to a truly global presence.

First and foremost thank you to my brother and partner Ash, its truly been a crazy run and its only been possible through our collaborative efforts, yin and yang, brother to brother manager to artist. I will always appreciate this road with you no matter where it leads from here. I could write so much more but our journey is far from finished.

Thank you to everyone at At Night, a special thanks to everyone who has been a part of the team since day one and without your hard dedicated work I wouldn’t be here. Thank you especially to Carl Vernersson, Filip Holm, Marcus Lindgren, Victor Lee and Panos Ayassotelis.

Thank you to the teams of Johnny Tenander, Per Sundin, Max Hole, Neil Jacobson and Joakim Johansson in no particular order. Your loyalty and hard work on the label and publishing fronts have allowed me to always feel like we have had someone backing us in your court, and that has given me the musical confidence I’ve needed. Thank you.

Thank you Robb Harker, Malik Adunni, David Brady, Andrew Mckeough, Rob Woo and Felix Alfonzo – you helped introduce touring to me in as much of a functional way possible for a kid my age and my road could have been alot darker if it wasnt for your personal support at such a crucial point. Thank you Semi Baddredine for all your personal support, talks and help in me growing up. I have a weird feeling i could be dead If it wasn’t for you and I will always love and support you.

Thank you to Ciara Davy, Michael “Curly” Jobson and the MJM team, Harry Bird and Charlie Alves for making my touring years amazing during the best of times and durable during the worst. I hope we will find a way to keep on working together.

Thank you to all artists, musicians and songwriters who have helped me develop musically and personally, the list is long but there is no one I’ve worked with where I haven’t learnt something.

A huge thank you to all my friends in the industry. Thank you Jesse Waits at XS for having been such a huge friend to me and a rock in stormy waters. Also huge thanks in no particular order to Jonathan Schwartz, Austin Leeds, Pete Moutso, Dave Grutman, Noah Tepperberg, Jason Strauss, Sean Christie, Carlos Correal, Rob Fernandez, Eddie Dean, Adam Russakoff, Mike Satsky, Trecia Laird, Lisa Pillette, Marcella Barrett, Zoe Stainsby, Joe Bellioti, Yann and Romain Pissenem, John and Paul in Ibiza, Fricko, Sean, Marcus, Awat, Lucas, Ludde, Calle, Johannes, Filip, Levan, Otto, Oliver, my brothers David and Anton, my sister Linda, My parents Anki and Klas. Thank you to all the ones I didn’t include in this moment. There has been too many people to mention in one sitting that had an impact on me in this industry and Im sorry I’m forgetting some of you. But last but not least thank you to every fan who has ever bought a ticket or snuck in, bought a song or downloaded it, commented on posts or hated at them. Its your thoughts and ideas about the music that helped me evolve and I do owe everything I have to you.

My path has been filled with success but it hasn’t come without its bumps. I’ve become an adult while growing as an artist, I’ve come to know myself better and realize that there’s so much I want to do with my life. I have strong interests in different areas but there’s so little time to explore them.

Two weeks ago, I took the time to drive across the U.S. with my friends and team, to just look and see and think about things in a new way. It really helped me realize that I needed to make the change that I’d been struggling with for a while.

My choices and career have never been driven by material things, although I’m grateful for all the opportunities and comforts my success has availed me. I know I am blessed to be able to travel all around the world and perform, but I have too little left for the life of a real person behind the artist.

I will however never let go of music – I will continue to speak to my fans through it, but I’ve decided this 2016 run will be my last tour and last shows. Let’s make them go out with a bang!

One part of me can never say never, I could be back …but I won’t be right back.

Yours forever,
Tim Bergling / Avicii

Las Vegas Foodie Tour Makes Top Chefs Accessible to Everyone

0

Let’s be honest here: If you’re coming to Vegas for a few days, not really that familiar with the Chefs and the restaurants, nor a huge fan of their prices, the restaurants in Vegas might be a little overwhelming. If you’re like many tourists that come here, you want to try the best restaurants but sort of afraid you’ll order a dish you can’t pronounce and it will turn out to be “Fried Snail with a Side of Sea Urchin Foam.” Not the first dish someone should try if they are expanding their palette.

Don Contursi, agrees with this, which is why he created Lip Smacking Foodie Tours, a local business that allows visitors to Las Vegas to try many of the best restaurants on the same day.

“The best restaurants are known for their signature dishes, I figured to have the best meal in Vegas you should visit multiple restaurants and enjoy those dishes,” Contursi told PaceVegas. “Most people are overwhelmed with all the restaurant options and don’t want to gamble on an overpriced meal, we’ve made it fun to experience many of the best restaurants all in the same night!”

To his credit, Contursi has managed to put together an amazing list of great restaurants to try – all done during a walking tour that also helps you burn some of the calories of these succulent dishes. Their popular Strip Tour features items from some of the best Chefs including Javiers, Michael Mina’s Bardot, and the devilish delicious chocolate of Hexx.

Contursi explains that he got his idea while working in the Vegas hospitality industry.

“… It became a hobby of mine to try most of the restaurants in Las Vegas both on the Strip and off the beaten path. My first “amazing” meal was when I finally sat down to enjoy a full experience at the restaurant I was working at the time, Gordon Ramsay Steak. It was an opportunity to appreciate the entire experience we were providing our guests. The food is outstanding and the choreographed steps of service made for an entirely unique and memorable experience giving me the true understanding of dinner and a show.”

The restaurants that they work with are extremely happy to have the additional business, as it not only provides additional business but gives exposure of their restaurant to tourists who might not otherwise eat at the restaurant.

Nathan Grates, the Assistant General Manager of Bardot by Michael Mina was happy to talk about their relationship.

“Las Vegas Foodie Tours expands the audience of Bardot Brasserie both local and abroad allowing their guests the opportunity to experience one of Michael Mina’s popular new concepts,” Grates told us over email. “The tour offers an incredible variety of some of the industry’s best in Las Vegas and we’re happy to be a part of the equation.”

The manager of Hexx, Ari Stotland was happy to agree, and explained that Lip Smacking Foodie Tours bring them a lot of business. “Donald brings foodies to Hexx every day – groups as small as 2 and as large as 60. We love sharing our desserts featuring chocolate made in-house! Donald gives our restaurant great exposure.”

Some of the guests who Contursi brings to restaurants don’t necessarily have experience in some of the finer restaurants, and some dishes are completely unique to tourists from parts of the world that don’t have a robust culinary community.

Contursi always recommends that his guests try the Moraccan Octopus at Estiatorio Milos served with capers from Santorini as “it is by far the best in town and unlike anything people can imagine. Tender and delicious with the perfect char to it.” However, some guests can’t believe that they are eating Octopus including the guest who was very serious about recording her eating the dish in order to share with her family, as they would never believe she ate it. “

Although he’s happy with the list of restaurants, he always wants to add more.

One restaurant he isn’t working with right now is MR CHOW, which he’d love to see added to his tour in order to “showcase his highest standard of Chinese cuisine through a social and very entertaining dining experience.”
