With DW Bistro closing the Fort Apache restaurant, people have been wondering what amazing restaurant could ever replace it. Well, the Infamous Vegas food reporter Al Mancini has reported in VegasSeven that André Rochat’, famous for his self-named Monte Carlo restaurant, is taking over the space currently run by DW Bistro.
Mark Purdy, executive chef at Rochat’s Alizé in the Palms confirms that his boss will take over the current DW Bistro space on Fort Apache Road near Southern Hills Hospital. While he didn’t reveal a name or an opening date for the new concept, Purdy says, “We are planning a modern bistro using many of André’s recipes and techniques.” Purdy goes on to call it “just a less formal, less expensive, neighborhood version of André’s. “
Las Vegas Weekly called his restaurant and the Chef one of the “André Rochat has long been one of the cornerstones of the Las Vegas culinary landscape, serving world-class cuisine from the modest Downtown restaurant he opened in 1980 long before celebrity chefs conquered the Strip.”
