A local Las Vegas woman has filed a real honest to God Federal Lawsuit against Real Water Brand and AffinityLifestyles.com Inc, owned by Nevada Assemblyman Brent Jones, for attempting to indoctrinate her into the Scientology Cult. According to the lawsuit, she and other employees were forced to watch scientology videos as soon as they joined the company.
Jones, who has refused to comment on this Lawsuit, saying they have not been served yet, is accused of forcing employees to sit through courses which included “self-betterment courses, which included books, videos and paperwork,” about the scientology religion.
Grecia Echevarria-Hernandez, 27, says she was hired as a “brand ambassador” for the company last March, but could only get raises in the company if she participated in scientology-based courses. Every course they watched, they were given a 25 cents raise and all the water they could drink.
As a practicing Catholic, Echevarria-Hernandez felt that the videos violated her religious freedom, and refused to watch the videos. As a result co-workers made it an increasing hostile environment, pressuring her to watch the videos as part of their company indoctrination.
After complaining about the videos, she was told that she was not performing her job duties and was immediately fired. The lawsuit claims that she was purely fired because she was catholic and refused to participate in religious activities against her beliefs.
Brent Jones and Affinitylifestyles.com is accused of unlawful employment practice, intentional and religious discrimination, retaliation and wrongful termination. Echevarria-Hernandez is seeking damages for her financial losses, and for emotional pain and suffering caused by the alleged wrongful termination, as well as punitive damages and attorney’s fees.
DrinkRealWater claims to be the only water that “utilizes the proprietary E2 Technology™, making it the only drinking water on the market that can maintain a stable negative (-) ionization. Since Real Water is alkaline with an 8.0 pH and negative ionized, it can help the body to restore balance.”
Jones is an assemblymen in Nevada, and recently became nationally famous after endorsing Donald Trump. He told the LVRJ that his priorities for Nevada were: “Creating a budget that is balanced without raising taxes. Using less taxation and regulations to make a Nevada a business friendly atmosphere. Tesla is a great example, and proves, that when we reduce both taxes and regulations businesses will come to Nevada. These same principles must be extended to all Nevada businesses. Job creation will result when businesses are free to grow and hire Nevadans.”
