Rivera to Cost $42 Million to Implode

The Rivera, which has been closed for over a year now, may actually start coming down. Despite plans for quite a bit to get rid of this famed casino building, it’s only been now that a construction company and price tag has been announced.

This June and August, two separate monstrous explosions will bring down the Rivera to make way for the expansion plans of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority.

WA Richardson Builders LLC will get the $42 Million contract for both taking the building down, abating the hazardous materials and removing everything from the site. The entire building will at one point have to be covered in air tight balloon while workers remove dangerous asbestos.
