O.J. Simpson Violates Parole, Banned from Cosmo in Las Vegas

1

Bad news for O.J. Simpson, who has now been accused of breaking his parole conditions by getting super drunk at the Cosmopolitan in the Clique Bar.

According the security report, he got upset that the staff wasn’t treating him as a celebrity, and when they asked him to calm down, he threw glasses at the hotel staff and started screaming.

Witnesses say O.J. was visible drunk, slurring his words and stumbling.

Police were not called, but the Casino has banned him permanently from the Casino.

If this is correct, this is a violation of his parole, which does not allow him to drink “in excess.”

Caesars Announces Zipline Project on Strip

0

Today, Caesars Entertainment Corporation, owner of The LINQ Promenade, announced the intended addition of Fly LINQ, expected to be the first and only zipline on the Las Vegas Strip. Developed by the team behind the High Roller, the world’s tallest observation wheel, the approximately $20 million Fly LINQ features 10 side-by-side zip lines, capable of simultaneously launching all riders. The experience will be constructed on The LINQ Promenade, the open-air shopping, dining and entertainment district situated at the heart of the Las Vegas Strip. Construction is expected to begin in the spring of next year.

“Fly LINQ will further establish The LINQ Promenade as a must-visit destination, particularly for distinctive Las Vegas entertainment experiences,” said Bob Morse, President of Hospitality, Caesars Entertainment Corporation. “This new experience will join The LINQ Promenade’s growing number of thrilling and memorable entertainment, dining and retail options.”

Guests are expected to begin their ride experience by taking an elevator designed to provide open strip views from the Vortex at The LINQ Hotel & Casino to the top of the 122-foot-tall launch tower. After enjoying spectacular views of the Strip during the ascent, it is planned that guests will arrive on the launch deck, where queuing and gear-fitting will take place. Riders can choose to ride in either a “superman” or seated position.

From the launch tower, the ride continues eastward, traveling 1,080 feet above The LINQ Promenade. Riders disembark near the base of the High Roller. To remember their exhilarating experience, guests will be able to opt to purchase professional photos—either individually or as a group—dressed in full flight gear and in mid-air.

Fly LINQ is expected to feature two automated gear retrieval lines that will keep queues moving quickly by swiftly returning gear back to the launch tower. In addition, it is planned to feature an innovative, custom-built automated ride system as well as best-in-class technology developed by global leaders in zipline construction.

Fly LINQ is being developed in conjunction with Xventure LV, LLC, a company built by hospitality and attractions industry veterans, delivering the most advanced thrill rides in the most exciting locations imaginable. Xventure specializes in high-capacity adventure rides situated in prime urban locations and Fly LINQ will be its most ambitious project to date. Xventure will lead the development and operations of Fly LINQ.

“Xventure is thrilled to work with Caesars Entertainment to give thrill seekers an adrenaline-packed experience in the center of the Las Vegas Strip,” says Joey Paulos, principal and managing member of Xventure.

Fly LINQ will reunite many of the team members behind the development of the High Roller observation wheel, including Themed Development Management (TDM) as project manager. In addition to the High Roller, TDM’s principals and executives have extensive experience in creating major theme parks and attractions.

Goodbye Diablos Cantina, Sambalatte and 800 Degrees

MonteCarlo is ejecting pretty much everyone from their casino, while preparing its new name and new look. This means all the restaurants and stores are being forced out without renewal of their lease and hacing to find new places.

According to Al Mancini of the LVRJ “The Monte Carlo is in the midst of a transition into a new resort known as Park MGM, with a smaller boutique hotel component, NoMad. Along with the recent addition of Bavette’s, the crossover also has brought restaurant Primrose and a Las Vegas outpost of New York’s NoMad restaurant is still in the planning stages. But the most eagerly anticipated addition to the dining scene is probably a Las Vegas incarnation of Mario Batali’s Eataly concept. There’s no word, however, on when that might be open for business.”

Las Vegas Lights FC Reveals New Logo and Stadium Design

0

Having been awarded expansion team status a few months ago, Las Vegas are on the verge of ushering in their first professional football (uh, soccer) team for almost four decades.

Indeed, Las Vegas Lights FC are due to join the United Soccer League (the third tier of US soccer) for the start of the 2018 season, having recently acquired ownership of their very own stadium.

The team have also unveiled their new club crest and, by Jove, it’s a bit of a looker…

It looks like a flickering sign outside a strip club you can buy to launder money in Grand Theft Auto, and that’s no bad thing in our book.

The rhombus crest shape is based on the silhouette of the famous ‘Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas’ sign that beckons pilgrims at the far south end of The Strip, just rotated through 90 degrees.

The lurid colour palette (and the club name for that matter) is, as you may have guessed, a nod to the neon lights that illuminate the gambling mecca all day and all night.

According to Lights owner Brett Lashbrook, the team’s first ever kit is currently being drafted up and “should be unveiled soon”.

If it’s even half as purdy as the badge, they’ll be laughing.

Bad New: SLS Las Vegas Sale Stalled for Now

0

After finding some really bad information about the condition of the SLS Hotel, a representative at Alex Meruelo’s company tells us that they are pushing back on the purchase price really hard.

The representative, wanting to remain anonymous, tells us that the Hotel requires major upgrades despite being redone to even fit with modern safety and security measures.

While the deal was supposed to be done already, it’s now delayed until next year or father. While Sam Nazarian bought the hotel for $400 million, the price that Meruelo is willing to pya keeps on going lower.

Additionally, after looking at the books, Meruelo’s company found the casino was run as a “personal plaything” for Sam Nazarian during his short lived tenure there. The hope was the demographic would be similar to his clubs, which flourished under his hedonistic way of doing business.

But the concept never took hold with the targeted demographic. Part of that was due to the SLS’s awkward location at the north end of the Las Vegas Strip. The resort was completely surrounded by failed or stalled resorts, such as Alon, Fontainebleau, and Resorts World, and nothing says “not hip” more than a wasteland.

Then there was the loss of almost $100 million 6 months after opening, when no one wanted to go to the hotel.

Was the Vegas Shooter a Trump Fan? Friend Claims Yes

0

One piece of audio that was buried beneath the mountain of news that came out in the first few hours following the tragic Las Vegas shooting on Oct. 1 was an apparent former neighbor of Stephen Paddock having said that Paddock was “a fan” of President Donald Trump.

A caller to Savage Nation (hosted by conservative talk show host Michael Savage) named “Rick” claimed he was a neighbor of Paddock from December 2015 to June of 2016. When asked by Savage if Paddock had ever expressed any political opinions to him, the neighbor said the following: “No sir, not a thing, I mean other than I told him … I was wearing a Trump Team shirt that said ‘Trump Team’ on it, and he was a Trump fan. But other than that, we didn’t talk about it.”

Savage, who heavily supported Trump during his campaign, followed up the comment with a laugh and said, “Don’t let that get out.”

The caller, who said he now lives in Pittsburgh, believes that Paddock was set up.

“I’m not a big conspiracy theory guy but it don’t sit right,” the caller said. “I know this guy. I’ve drank beer with this guy.

“I can tell you, 100 percent, that this is not that kind of guy. I was in [Mesquite, Nevada] working and probably saw him every other day on my way home. He used to sit in his driveway in a lawn chair, right at the edge of the garage and the driveway. And he would wave all the time when I was going by – really nice guy.

“There’s a little bar around the corner where they have poker vending machines. He’d go down there all the time and have a few beers and play that little vending slot machine.

“We drank beer together, kind of sitting there in passing … we would talk about nonsense stuff. I told him I was in the Marine corps. We’d talk about guns and all kinds of stuff. He never even told me that he owned a gun.”

Photos: OJ Simpson Back to Preying on Blondes

0

Bad news for the women of Las Vegas, who are being targeted again by none other than OJ Simpson, the convicted felon and serial abuser of women. Despite being recently let out of prison, being found liable in the murder of his ex wife and lover,  he was caught drinking excessively at a local bar, “Grape Street Wine Bar.” This is strange because drinking is often a violation of parole by most felons.

The conditions of Simpson’s parole allow him to ‘consume alcoholic beverages but not to excess’.

Yet, despite this, the 70 year old simpson was going after two blondes all night, making clear he wouldn’t take “no” for an answer. Neither one of them seemed to know who he was, at first. The conditions of his parole dictate he must report to his state parole officer on a monthly basis and obtain permission from the Nevada Division of Parole and Probation when he changes his residence.

The 70-year-old was paroled from Lovelock Correctional Center on October 1 after being sentenced to between nine and 33 years in jail for robbery and kidnapping in 2008.

What’s funny is that Friday night’s scene echoed a recent Saturday Night live skit in which cast member Kenan Thompson portrayed Simpson on a blind date with a woman who was not aware of his past.

What are the Safest Casinos in Las Vegas Now?

0

Lots of questions since the shooting at Mandalay Bay, especially “where was hotel security?” Many tourists are becoming more and more aware that not every casino security is the same, and that policies of different casinos to allow guns and violent criminals despite warnings may mean that they are not as safe as others.  We looked at the security policies of the Casinos, and found that three casinos stood out as being the safest and more secure.

“It’s a new awakening for this industry,” said Kate Sullivan, a San Jose State University professor who co-founded the school’s Department of Hospitality, Tourism and Event Management. “The United States has been playing this issue down, but it occurs across the world. In Africa and India, hotels are equipped because of their experience with bombings.”

“We’ve always been a soft target,” said Nevada assemblyman Elliot Anderson, a former Marine who served in Afghanistan and later worked as a security officer at the Planet Hollywood resort. “Although we’re not a high military-grade target, if someone wanted to cause panic here, they could do it easily.”

Wynn Has Navy Seals and CIA Agents
At entrances to the Wynn resort in Las Vegas on Monday afternoon, guards scanned visitors with metal-detector wands and inspected their bags, creating a 10-minute wait to get inside. The new security protocol, put in place after Sunday’s mass shooting nearby, may become the norm on the Strip and possibly beyond, some say.
Security has been one of the main concerns for Steve Wynn for years, and he’s made his casino and resort one of the safest in the world. Steve Wynn once said that he did everything to “harden” the Wynn to prevent it being a target, and ensuring if it ever was, that they would have a top-notch security team.

“We have another group of a half a dozen seals team six guys and CIA guys who are a counterterrorism unit that … relate on a daily basis to Homeland Security, the FBI, and Metro,” Wynn once told John Ralston. “My company has metal detectors and devices at every entrance of the building for employees and guests that are non-visible to the public. We have done extraordinary things to make that sure we protect our employees and our guests at the hotel.”

Palazzo/Venetian hired Ex-Mossad Agents.
It’s no secret that Sands CEO Sheldon Adelson has ex-Mossad agents guarding his house, but not everyone knows that they also help with security. Unlike most casinos on the strip, they also have security at the entrances to the parking lots, during large events increase that security to look for bombs and weapons.

Additionally, they employ experts in intelligence as part of their security, that are trained to look for possible threats through cameras. As a supporter of Israel, Adeslon has been aware of the need for high level security, even before the shooting and made it clear it was important to protect his guests. Unlike Mandalay Bay, they also have cameras everywhere in the casino, including hallways to monitor for possible assaults and rapes.

While there is no way to ensure that you can be absolutely safe while in Las Vegas, some casinos have been taking it seriously since the start and want to make it clear that on a day-to-day basis, those casinos are safe and secure.
