XS Nightclub reopened at Encore on Thursday, November 5, after a three-month renovation, according to Vital Vegas. The grand reopening was booked for four nights with Rufus Du Sol, The Chainsmokers, Calvin Harris and others.

Wynn's announcement, as quoted by Vital Vegas, said the redesign preserves "the sense of fantasy and spectacle that has defined the nightclub since its debut 17 years ago" and "draws inspiration from bold interpretations of the future," with reflective brass, bronze and chrome. Subwoofers and center-fill speakers are now built into the DJ booth. Vital Vegas noted that XS opened in December 2008, which puts it closer to 18 years. The club spans more than 40,000 square feet and is rated for 1,840 guests indoors and up to 3,121 counting outdoor areas.

The reopening comes as the Strip's club map keeps shifting. Vital Vegas reported that Jewel at Aria has announced it will close after a decade, Omnia Dayclub recently opened at Caesars Palace, and the Drai's rooftop has closed at Vanderpump, formerly The Cromwell.

The desk's takeMost Vegas clubs get a renovation right before they get a eulogy, so XS coming back with brass, chrome and the same headliners is a statement of confidence. Retro-futurism is a smart look for a room that is itself a 2008 idea of the future. If Jewel is going dark, the math is simple: fewer big rooms, same number of people who want a table.
