BLT Burger at the Mirage might have a little “extra” in their food that no one wants to talk about. According to reports, BLT Burger at the Mirage has been shut down by the Southern Nevada Health District, because of what can only be called numerous health violations.
Susan Stapleton at Vegas Eater claims:
“BLT Burger initially earned a 39-demerit C grade from the health department on March 8. Inspectors returned on March 16 to find potentially hazardous dishes improperly cooled, food unprotected from potential contamination, ineffective pest control measures, hot and cold holding equipment missing and more, earning the restaurant 19 demerits. SNHD will shut down a restaurant if a re-inspection has some of the same demerits found during the previous inspection.”
BLT Burger had previously been part of another Health District Scandal when the Las Vegas Review Journal incorrectly noted in 2008 that it was getting also bad ratings.
BLT Burger itself ironically as “At this brainchild of Chef Laurent Tourondel, meat and bun take on connoisseur toppings and sides. Oh, and there’s nothing cooler (in temperature and attitude) than a spiked milkshake.” I guess there are a lot of things cooler than the fridges there, according to the Southern Nevada Health District.
